It provides tightened, normal, and reduced plans to be used onmeasurements which are normally distributed. Variation may be measured by sample standard deviation, sample range, orknown standard deviation. It is applicable only when the normality of the measurements is assured. The matching is sufficient to allow inspection under either standard for stated AQLs and inspection levels with reasonably equiv-alent protection. Tables are given in Section EAppendix that show differences in protection between ASQ/ANSI Z1.9-2003 (R2018) and ASQ/ANSI Z1.4-2003 (R2018). These are for use in critical applications to determine whether moving from one standard to the other is appropriate.EDITS01-Z1.9-2003-R2018-FM(i-x).qxp_00.Z1.9.fm(i-x).qxd 10/24/18 7:30 AM Page iii-,-,-(This page intentionally left blank)01-Z1.9-2003-R2018-FM(i-x).qxp_00.Z1.9.fm(i-x).qxd 10/24/18 7:30 AM Page iv-,-,-CONTENTSPageINTRODUCTION . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . viiFigure 1Flowchart for use of ASQ/ANSI Z1.9. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ixSECTION AGENERAL DESCRIPTION OF SAMPLING PLANS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1Tables:Table A-1AQL Con
